Styling Now: Burgundy and Black

Styling Now: Burgundy and Black

After last year’s big burgundy moment, one might wonder if it will be making a reappearance this fall/winter. Well, it has and it’s back again in a bigger-than-ever way. The wine-inspired color is popping up in pretty much every clothing store around New York City and on global online retailers. This means there are plenty of ways to embrace this highly-coveted color.

Just like those previously posted essentials of the burgundy persuasion (view, here), I was quickly passionate about this soft leather midi skirt by French Connection. Mixing the high-waist burgundy beauty (here) with a thin, black turtleneck (here) was a fairly obvious match due to the amazing waist clinching silhouette of the skirt. To lighten the look, I paired the ensemble with suede ankle booties and a houndstooth clutch for seasonal pattern pop. This look could easily go from desk to dinner and would also make a superb holiday party outfit. Add a fur vest (here) for an extra layer of warmth once the mercury plunges.

You’ll soon see how I style this burgundy leather skirt for a more casual winter look. Until then, more of this burgundy and black outfit can be found below.
