Hello, #NYFW! It’s that time of year again when the fashion flock reunites for a week of shows, shoots, events and sitting in non-moving Ubers while traffic is jammed for dayssss. A lot of work leads up to this bi-annual week of festivities – needless to say, it can be quite stressful. However, once in motion, the wide-spread energy that beams across the Big Apple seems to get you through the long days and nights.
Speaking of mood-lifting energy, that’s exactly what came over me when I put together the outfit below. This floral lace top with sheer long sleeves and ruffled trim at the shoulders is both romantic and tough (here). The 90’s inspired lace-through grommet details at the shoulders are big this season and add a touch of devilish dare to the feel. To avoid being matchy (and sweating to death in this 90-degree weather), I paired the top with light denim instead of the typical black leather pant. These wide-leg, cropped jeans with high-waist are my absolute favorite pair of denim (here) in the rotation right now, which is crazy because I swore I wouldn’t buy into the mom jean trend. Nevertheless, I’m completely obsessed with the ultra-soft denim and comfortable fit. I’m also not about to be over these last season Balenciaga booties anytime soon. They are still my go-to when I need extra some pep in my step.
Below is my look for day one of New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017 (otherwise known as #NYFW #SS17). I am not sure how I can top the ‘let’s do this!’ feels from this look but I’m sure going to try!
