I don’t know about you, but I can feel the seasonal change in the air. Leading up to the official start of spring, New Yorkers have been more cheerful – as our visions of outdoor lunches and weekend strolls through flower-packed parks seem soon obtainable. So, with these hopeful vibes filling the city air, I couldn’t sit back and wait for my warmer weather dreams to come to fruition. I needed to make a break for it.
Last week, I spontaneously packed a tiny carryon containing my new spring Tibi outfit and got in an Uber bound for La Guardia. My plan was to spend some leisurely barelegged hours under the warm sun. Thus, my not too far away old stomping grounds came to mind — Miami Beach.
I’ve been obsessing over The Miami Beach EDITION Hotel since it was built back in late 2014 (read about my previous experience at the hotel’s Jean-Georges restaurant, The Matador Room, here). So, naturally, the EDITION is where I would call home during this end-of-winter escape. The splendidly chic hotel offers sophisticated accommodations for a luxurious stay, two pools for sun worshiping, plenty of foodie-worthy dining options and entertainment unlike any other Miami Beach hotel – there is a skating rink and bowling alley in the basement (pic, here). I’ve found that The Miami Beach EDITION Hotel by Marriott is an excellent choice when seeking a stylish sanctuary for recharging the batteries and getting inspired.
