A trendy rooftop terrace requires an of-the-moment outfit to match, right? This was my thinking during a recent stop by the Hotel Indigo, located in the Lower East Side. Their buzzed-about rooftop, dubbed Mr. Purple, has been the spot to be due to their pool access pass ($40 a day) and stellar views (of both uptown and downtown). The fashion flock and creative types have called dibs on this elevated lounging area, so I knew it would be the best spot for wearing my latest set of stripes (dress, here) and enjoying a glass of summer water (current favorite brands, here and here). I found this Tularosa dress while looking for fun-in-the-sun outfits for occasions like summer festivals. The stripes and on-trend cut out first grabbed my attention, but it was the slits up the leg that led to the final purchase. Oh, how I love a dress that gives good movement and this one more than succeeds. I thought about styling the dress with white lace-up wedges and a blue bandana, but then I opted for a more edgy look appropriate for chillen in the Lower East Side. I paired this maxi with a studded choker (solid one, here), wool hat (here), and lace-up heels (here), all in black. The result: feeling like a badass and having a blast! Below you can see more of my outfit and partial views from Mr. Purple – no photos of said pool were taken due to folks laying out, but the small blue cement pond does the job during these hot summer days.
Outfit details: Dress, Tularosa // Choker, old (others here, here, and here) // Hat, Rag and Bone // Shoes, Dune London (on sale!)
