Flowy fabrics are key to summer survival, especially during August in New York City. Thus, my infatuation with palazzo pants reached a new height this summer. When wearing these wide-leg pants you can literally breeze through an entire day feeling effortlessly cool.
The trick to styling these relaxed-fit trousers is to pair them with a top that is on the tighter side; otherwise, you’ll end up looking sloppy. A thin knit or a crop top complements these high-waisted, kings of comfort very well. However, if it’s still too hot for the knit and/or you’re an adult who doesn’t feel comfortable purchasing a cropped Kendall Jenner favorite, then try my trick.
You all know that I love a good slogan tee, so I have many, though, any type of t-shirt would work for this. Simply pull the tee tightly in the back and knot it to hold the fabric up above the waistline (like where a crop top would sit). Having the knot placed in the back, versus the front or side, really lets the pants shine and highlights the length of your legs.
You may find that this style of bottoms tends to run a little long so I like to style them with a comfortable block heel of around two inches (gotta get that extra lift while still feeling comfortable!). Just make sure you wear a pair of shades with this ‘model off-duty’ look so you can creep back on those passersby admiring your look.
