It was 10:30 pm on July 22, a scorching hot Saturday night in Miami, when models took to the stage (normal, right?) to close out the second swimwear-packed day during this year’s SWIMMIAMI. With the greatest hits of the 90s blaring, the bodacious babes strutted their stuff wearing the latest collection of sexy, California-inspired swimwear by Frankies Bikinis. While the new line, dubbed “Golden State of Mind,” incorporates the breathtaking hues reminiscent of the glistening ocean and soft sunsets found along the coast of California, the runway show gave a serious nod to the ‘it girls’ and style icons from the 90s movie Clueless.
Designer Francesca Aiello’s featured ultra-flattering fabrics and with new, sportier cuts that make styles effortless and adaptable. Her goal was to create a collection that would allow girls to easily go from the beach to beyond by simply throwing on a pair of cutoffs.
Francesca describes the new collection saying, “Like everything else in the world, I’m evolving. I’d like to think that my designs for this collection are who I am as a 22-year-old woman- different, new and more mature than my last. It’s an elevated aesthetic for the Frankies Girl- effortless, edgy and universally fitting!”
