The yearly release of Resort and Cruise collections are by far my most eagerly anticipated arrivals. These collections, the chicest conceptions of what people wear during their travels to colorful destinations, typically launch right around the end of the year before everyone heads out on holiday. For me, the holidays are a hectic time filled with family affairs, office parties and my birthday/month (yes, I’ve finally managed to extend the magnificent day of my birth to 4-week long celebration). That said, I finally get to live out my Resort and Cruise excitement with tropical getaways during the brutally cold months that kick-off our calendar year, which makes the warm reward that much sweeter.
During a recent trip down to New York City South or more properly known as Miami Beach, I called upon these vacation-ready collections for my packing inspiration. Something about thin, soft garments that are perfect for lounging around swanky hotels just resonate with me. With dreamy, lightweight pieces in mind, I was euphoric when I found out that one of my favorite brand partners, Bailey 44, had released a pair of pants perfect for this warm-weather getaway (here). The Italian woven, wide-leg pants with stripes and drawstring waist were everything that I was searching for.
As Sarah (my amazing photographer, site here) and I roamed around South Beach in search of creative inspiration to take back to NYC with us, I felt so relaxed and distant from all of the city frustrations. It may sound weird that wearing a pair of pants can cause such an awesome sense of liberation, but if you encased yourself like a sausage in leggings every day during winter, you’d understand.
Below, you can see, more of this resort-ready look and pair of vacation-worthy pants – plus, additional styling options.
