Plaid, Bell Sleeves, and Red Suede Shoes

Plaid, Bell Sleeves, and Red Suede Shoes

Check mate, gingham. Get ready to replace summer’s ‘it’ print with the latest styling selections consisting of checks, plaid, and tartan. With designs ranging from classic to grunge, these patterns are taking over come fall.

As seen on everything from blazers to jumpsuits and trench coats, designers like Alexander WangCalvin Klein, and Stella McCartney have proved that you can mix these patterns with just about anything. Once we find ourselves knee-deep in pumpkin spice latte Instagrams, I’ll be mixing and matching a variety of garments featuring these seasonal must-have patterns. But, for now, I’ve chosen to fire up my fall feels with this high-waisted mini in monochrome plaid and touch of modern, lace-up detailing.

Also returning to the center stage this fall is the bell sleeve. Attention to sleeve detail is significant once more, which makes the bell a great way to add an easy update to your transitional looks. Last fall, lightweight sweaters by French Connection were on repeat for me so again their ribbed knits were my first choice because these can be worn alone now or as a layering piece later on.

Recently, I was introduced to M4D3 shoes and my eyes were immediately drawn to these glove-fit, suede pumps in red (one of the colors that you’ll be seeing extra of in just a few weeks). To my surprise, their trend-led styles are not just affordable but are comfortable. Still, it’s their brand mission that expresses how they’ll use their collective power to create positive change in the world which is most noteworthy. Currently, when you purchase a pair of their shoes, you also donate two books to a child in need through their non-profit partner, First Book. You can find fancy footwear from the M4D3 fall collection at Nordstrom, as well as directly from their website www.shop.m4d3shoes.com.

I know that we’re all enjoying this final stretch of summer, but if there’s one thing to look forward to next season it’s fall fashion.

This post was made in collaboration with M4D3 shoes, however, opinions are my own.
