Well, it appears that my warm, tropical feels are on hold until I make my way back down to South Florida again. So, until then, a girl’s got stay warm!
Last weekend it snowed in New York City, which is a mild explanation of events. We were only expecting a light dusting but ended up with a complete white-out. However, I didn’t complain since I still feel that childlike excitement about the first major snowfall of the season. With intentions of getting snow day thrills, I made plans with my blogger buddy (IG: @mariann_yip) to work up a bit of courage with some brunch mimosas at Miss Paradis before going to frolic in the fresh white flakes.
Since the intensity of the snowstorm took me by surprise and I hadn’t yet purchased new snow boots for the year (looking at these), I crafted a little rain-boot-with-thermal-sock situation to keep my feet warm. I did however already have a new pair of J Brand leggings (here), which totally superseded my expectations for providing warmth. I paired them with a furry jacket by Design History and my trusted The Kooples down coat (last year) for ultimate protection against the freezing elements.
If you’re looking to spruce up your existing arsenal of snow day gear or are visiting New York City soon and want to be prepared, I’ve rounded up a few essentials for your snow day adventures. Below, you can see more of our snow day fun, as well as these warmth-giving necessities.
