Signs of Spring (Part II)

Signs of Spring (Part II)

It’s pretty apparent when springtime finally arrives in New York City, as women’s attire quickly goes from dark and heavy to light and bright. Just as our parks begin to welcome us with blossoming blooms, so do the latest fashions. This year, the quintessential sign that spring has sprung – floral prints – will be found in the form of embroidery. The trend isn’t exactly newly budding, as it was carried over from last year. But it will be seeing us through until the end of our 2017 daily planners (and maybe beyond). These embroidered blooms are accompanied by another fashion attribute with staying power, the statement sleeve (see my previous post on the year of the sleeve, here).

Both of these fashion-forward details are featured in this affordable dress, which can be found at SheIn (here). Since I’m not quite ready to completely shed all my layers of black, I added this trench with tie-cuff details to keep me warm during our cool mornings (and to also add extra length during walks through the business districts). To pull the look together, I included a few extra pops of this season’s most popular colors pink and red.

The pink and red color combination commands its presence this season and I’m not about to stop it. To my surprise, wearing it has an empowering effect when, which is also the case when carrying this black and red bag by COCOVANN (see my previous post on how this handbag company designs for today’s #girlboss, here). My final proclamation that spring has arrived is the incorporation of these pink, block-heeled sandals with buckles by Ouigal (here). I mean, being able to set your toes free is the ultimate sign of springtime, right?

Below, you can see more of this look, as well as additional styling options. You can also go back to view the first signs of spring styling here. Yay for this long-awaited shift in seasons!! Btw – you can get 15% off of all COCOVANN bags now until May 28th using discount code: OBSESSIONSNOW

This post was made in collaboration with COCOVANN, Ouigal, and SheIn, however, opinions are my own.
