If you live in downtown New York City and haven’t heard of Cha Cha Matcha yet, you must not be on Instagram (see their IG, here). This green tea bar on Broome Street in Nolita has superfood fanatics filling up the bright pink and green colored joint from opening to closing. Since I enjoy trying new hot spots just as much as everyone else on this island, I stopped by Cha Cha Matcha to experience one of their Iced-Matcha Lattes during a recent weekend outing (while wearing this summer floral wrap maxi, here).
I was expecting my experience to be a let down since the place has been hyped-up so much. However, I was pleasantly surprised. At first, the antioxidant-packed drink tastes a bit bitter, but then its unique flavor quickly grows on you and becomes one that you’ll crave long after it’s gone. Also adding to my positive experience were the friendly and authentically matcha-obsessed baristas, who took time to fill me in on all things matcha (like how it can also be added to baked goods!).
Another in-the-know discussion going on around downtown right now is about the brand Cotton Candy LA, a brand made by and for rad girls. The brand is gaining a buzz for their flirty summer florals and flowy dresses. Wrapping up in this breathable cotton maxi (with waist-defining silhouette) makes the scorching summer heat bearable, plus the price point is pretty easy on the wallet (can be found at the SoHo Bloomies for under $100).
Below, see how I styled one of their maxis with lace-up sandals and my go-to summer hat. You can also view the Instagram-worthy interior of Cha Cha Matcha. Plus, I’ve included a few more selections from Cotton Candy LA that are perfect for downtown NYC summering.
