Since I’ve been feeling tempted by the festival fashion frenzy, I decided to test out a pair of 70s inspired jeans (here) and a velvet choker (here). At first, I wasn’t sure if I could get on board with this look (again). But, after walking around the West Village for a few blocks, I started to settle in to this throwback style. The high-waistline and choker reminded me of the first time I embraced this reoccurring trend back in the 90s, when Guns and Roses was playing on cassette tape and not headlining Coachella with my favorite DJs. Anyway, there’s something about a pair of jeans inspired by such a free-spirited era that evokes vibes perfectly fit for a downtown New York City stroll and I’m now obsessed.
If you’re music festival bound this spring/summer or just looking to embrace one of the season’s latest trends in real life, there are plenty of high waisted, flare jeans like these out there that you can pair with a basic top and choker. Below are the Rag and Bone jeans that I chose, along with more outfit details and styling options.
