I once heard someone say, “Winter is an option.” What a brilliant statement. Yes! Why not take a break from piling on layers of clothing and stepping over slush, and head down to the south? Already having a trip to Dallas, Texas for the Create + Cultivate conference on the books (if you’re a female entrepreneur in the digital space, you should look into this inspiring event), I decided to add-on an extra day to my itinerary for exploring the ‘Big D’ and to have a chance to slip into my new See By Chloé Crepe De Chine Embroidered Drop-Waist Dress that I had pre-ordered for spring.
You’ll see this unstructured dress pop-up in a few different colors this spring, as well as a longer maxi version. Still, I chose the shift silhouette in a feminine light pink/peachy color as it is close to the Rose Quartz tone that Pantone dubbed as the star of the spring 2016 fashion color palette.
This dress embodies all things spring 2016 – the rose color, pleats, tassels, and 70s boho vibes. I paired the dress with my favorite over-the-knee Stuart Weitzman “Highland” boots and Chloé ‘Faye’ Bag. This look made me feel ready for a stroll in a park, so thankfully the irregular Dallas weather was very favorable as I set out to explore the elite neighborhood of Highland Park. Tip: If you want to get your hands on this feminine dress for a one-time wear on Valentine’s Day, you can have it for the night using Rent The Runway.
Below, you can see, available variations of the dress, additional Chloé pieces perfect for styling with this dress or your spring wardrobe, and my personal style edit.
A special thanks to my wonderful Texas friends, Daniela and Erika, for helping me capture these fun moments and for showing me around their very hospitable city!
