I love the madness that comes with Fashion Week – even if it means crazy traffic and longer waits at my favorite dining spots – because I get loads of outfit inspiration from my fellow fashion peeps. So, with Spring 2016 New York Fashion Week underway (yes, it’s a season ahead, which is bit confusing to those outside the industry), I’ve had a close eye on the fashion flock as they strut their most stylish garb from show to show and at the after-parties.
What I saw was a huge adoption of trends from previous eras (the 70s are prevailing, while nods to the 60s, 80s and 90s are blended in). Mixing textures and patterns are huge, as well as adding a pop of the unexpected. Still, there are those who are staying true to their minimalistic style, and I appreciate that.
Basically – today’s apparel selection is more diverse than ever and everyone is free to express their own taste. That said, below is a round up of the street styles that I’m obsessing over.
Lyndsey Zorich, of L. Avenue, wearing dress by Phillip Lim, boots by Yves Saint Laurent, bag by Yves Saint Laurent, & glasses by Balenciaga as seen outside.
Sarah Slutsky, from Cinematique, outside the Altuzarra show.
Zanita Whittington outside the Altuzarra show wearing Bliss & Mischief blue jeans, Senso purple shoes & Paula Cademartori bag.
Leah Ho outside the Betsey Johnson show wearing an Asos gold suit with Asos shoes.
Chiara Ferragni outside the DVF show wearing a Saint Laurent dress and Isabel Marant boots (my favorite EVER).
Pam Hetlinger outside the Pamella Roland show wearing Schutz.
Jacey Duprie outside the DVF show wearing a Cameo two piece outfit, Red Valentino top, Olympia le tan bag & J. Crew shoes.
Talita Von Furstenberg outside the DVF show wearing a DVF outfit.
Lily Aldridge outside the DVF show.
Izortze Setien outside of the Rachel Zoe Spring show wearing You Must Create (YMC) black high waisted pants, H&M white T-shirt, Cline clutch bag, Adidas sneakers, Ray-Ban sunglasses and Larsson & Jennings watch.
